Service

Outside of my work as a PhD student and researcher, I am involved in service efforts to give back to my community.

Public Outreach at the Alzheimer's Association

At the Alzheimer's Association, I give educational presentations to members of the Los Angeles Community, spreading awareness of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias.

Mentor for Aspiring Researchers

In the Brain and Music Lab, I manage and mentor a team of over 40 undergraduate and graduate research assistants. I lead lab activities, and mentor students, in statistics, coding, experimental methods, and independent honors theses.

I also serve as a mentor for students applying to Psychology PhD programs through USC's CAPTURE Increase Diversity Committee and through the University of Minnesota's Next Gen Scholar Program. Both programs are aimed at increasing diversity in academia through assisting students from underrepresented communities (BIPOC, low-income, first-gen, LGBTQ+, etc.) on navigating the psychology PhD application process, edited personal statements.

Lastly, I mentor high school students in independent research projects at Polygence. I help guide students in designing and carrying out their own research investigations in topics related to psychology and neuroscience.
